YOUTH BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT FAQS

DYSports specializes in basketball tournaments for developing and mid-level teams - the space between recreational and elite travel basketball. Ideal for B and C teams, developing A teams, newer AAU or club teams, school feeder programs and advanced recreational teams. Elite travel teams may not be the right fit.

Yes. AAU teams, club programs, school feeder teams, school-based teams, independent teams and advanced recreational teams may all participate in DYSports youth basketball tournaments. No league or organization membership is required - teams just need to fit the developmental competition level of the event.

Teams can register to play up a grade in DYSports youth basketball tournaments without prior approval. Playing down a grade requires case-by-case approval from DYSports personnel before registering; any team playing down without approval will forfeit.

DYSports tournaments and leagues are team-entry events, so individual players can't register directly. Individual athletes can join DYSports basketball camps and clinics, open to boys and girls, which build skills like ball handling, shooting, defense and teamwork.
