Basketball has always been a constant in my life. From pickup games to streetball, the game shaped who I am long before I stepped into coaching. I began coaching my son in 2023 and a 6th-grade boys team as a local program was relaunching after COVID. Like many new coaches, I faced a learning curve but leaned into it through clinics, mentorship, and hands-on experience. Over the next few years, I coached multiple youth teams and quickly realized coaching was more than just basketball. It became an opportunity to provide leadership, structure, and mentorship to young athletes. My role has since expanded beyond the court into leadership within youth basketball, supporting program growth, team development, and working with coaches and families across multiple age groups. Through managing team logistics and scheduling, I was introduced to DYSports. What stood out was their commitment to true player development and creating competitive, balanced matchups. That alignment in values is what drew me to DYSports. I believe in creating environments where athletes can grow, compete, and build confidence, and I’m proud to be part of an organization that does exactly that.
